Travelling to Saint Lucia by Sea
St. Lucia is a popular cruise-ship destination and a haven for yachtsmen. Most cruise ships originate from North America while yachts of various types have direct access from around the world.
Cruise ships land passengers in Castries at two locations within Port Castries. Both sites are equipped with a duty-free shopping complex; Pointe Seraphine and La Place Carenage.
Passengers arriving by yachts have a number of anchorage spots or marinas to dock in St. Lucia. Full-service marinas and anchorage facilities are located in Castries and Gros Islet within Port Castries, Marigot Bay, and Rodney Bay Lagoon, while Soufriere and Vieux Fort provide adequate mooring and anchorage facilities within Anse Chastanet Bay, Anse Cochon Bay, Soufriere Bay, and Vieux Fort main ship dock. Customs and immigration can be cleared at these major commercial locations as well. (See Map)
St. Lucia is also accessible by ferry from the neighbouring [French] island of Martinique.
