Getting Married in Saint Lucia

St. Lucia is a premier upscale wedding and honeymoon destination in the Caribbean and the World. Nothing could be more romantic than having your wedding and honeymoon all planned on one of the most spectacular places on earth. There are numerous venues from which to choose for your perfect setting including a beautiful white sandy beach at sunset, a secluded mountain hideaway, or a formal church setting. St. Lucia is uniquely beautiful and seductive and has every possible setting that you can imagine.

There are several experienced wedding consultants and planners, including those from hotels and resorts, who can help you arrange the perfect ceremony and reception.

That perfect romantic honeymoon can begin at any of the many luxury hotels and resorts, intimate guesthouses, or island villas with private plunge pool located throughout St. Lucia. There are also many activities which are available to help create that memorable experience.

As you plan your visit to St. Lucia for that special occasion, you are encouraged to take note of the following details:

  • Ensure that both parties have the following documents:
    • A valid passport and birth certificate;
    • If either party's name has been changed by Deed Poll or other, proof of legal name;
    • If either party is divorced, an original or certified copy of a Divorce Decree absolute;
    • If either party is widowed, a certified Death Certificate of the deceased spouse;
    • If either party is under 18 years of age, a notarized affidavit of parental concent.
  • A minimum of three (3) days residency is required; it takes three business days to completely process your application.
  • Application for a marriage license is usually made through a local registered lawyer to the Attorney General.
