Getting Around Saint Lucia by Rental Car
There are several car rental companies on the island, some of which are affiliated with some international chains, such as Avis, Budget, Hertz and National. There are numerous local car rental agents located around the island, some of which operate out of the two airports as well. It may be cheaper and more reliable to hire in advance as you may arrive at the airport and find either the cheaper cars all rented out or none available at that time. Visitors planning to rent a vehicle are required to be in possession of a valid drivers licence from their home country (in order to purchase a temporary driving permit), and be at least 25 years old. There are a few car rental agents which you may contact before you get to St. Lucia.
