Yachting:
Yachting in St. Lucia owes much of its development to four St. Lucians namely Owen King, Errol Bam Charles, Fred Devaux and Winston Dacent. The group established The St. Lucia Yacht Club in 1963 with the aim of encouraging and helping young St. Lucians to enjoy all forms of aquatic sports. As a result of this initiative, St. Lucia was particularly successful achieving international standings at various yachting championships which, today continues to prosper and provides an even wider range of water sports for St. Lucians and visitors.
